Per recent claims from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a clemency request for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel announced that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating Maxwell is working on the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, stated in a official statement that the prison’s warden was assisting the convict with document preparation and submission to support her bid for clemency.

Specific details of the clemency request remain unclear, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

The representative claims that, per the insider, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the warden has individually organized private meetings for Maxwell and her visitors.

These meetings reportedly involve a designated private space for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also allowed to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other inmates, Maxwell was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to contact and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she reportedly employed the official as her private aide.

The news release states that those writing to her would send files directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to the inmate, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the warden to digitize and send to the initial correspondent.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Other privileges allegedly granted to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a perk typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to the convict is not something he has considered,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Recently, reports surfaced that Maxwell told close associates in electronic messages that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her previous prison.

In August, Maxwell was transferred from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in the state, where most inmates are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, the official, who also previously served as the President's private attorney.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own connections to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, Raskin also revealed that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the chief executive to reject Maxwell’s commutation request.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the document. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that the official attend a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

Raskin asked whether he had talked about a potential commutation for the convict with the official or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to arrange her with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether she, her lawyers, family or representatives have made any promises to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a response to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an petition from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
